Simple Woman's Day Book Planner

 Holidays are over. Decorations are down. Time to think about other things.

Just for today:

Outside my window it is cold and snowy and gray.

Today I am thinking about several things. First let me say, I work part time, usually, but last week I filled in for someone for a week. It has been the first time I worked that many days in a row outside the home in many, many years. So, what I am thinking about is how grateful to the Lord for the blessings he has given me that allows me to stay home and care for my family and home. I have met many unhappy women who long to be home and can't.

I am very thankful for the wonderful gift of a home and a fine husband and son to care for. I am also grateful for my own wonderful parents.

I am wearing a blue jean skirt and a flowered shirt.

I am remembering all I need to do around the house.

Tonight I will be visiting a nursing home.

A good book I am reading is actually well, several: Secrets of Mary by Janice T. Connell and Confessions of an Organized Homemaker by Deneice Schofield. Trying to get things organized around the home a little more. Sometimes it's good to try new organization tips.

I am hoping for no snow tonight.

I am hearing the theme song to the Dick Van @#!*% show because I just finished watching it. It is one of my favorite shows.

On my mind is many things.

I am noticing a gray cat lying by my feet.

One of my favorite things is a clean house and a day that ends well. Also,  sharing faith with my son on the way to taking him to school is one of my favorite things.

From the kitchen is not going to be today but I am hoping to do bread baking next week. Can't wait. I love to bake bread and haven't been able to get to that lately.

On my mind is how much better I can organize my home. I, also, love vintage kitchen items so I am thinking of next week when I have a chance to go to a new antique store we have in town.

Simple Woman's Day Planner It's Cold and Snowy

First let me say, "Happy 3rd week of Advent!"

Just for today:

Outside my window it is cold and snowy and gray.

Today I am thinking about several things. One I wish we could have made it to Mass but it is very bad out right now. We attempted it but the snow is blowing so much and visibility is not good. So, I am thinking about the Lord in my heart and missing being with Him in worship. I am, also, thinking about how I plan to organize my recipes from a binder to recipe box.

I am very thankful for a warm home, roof over our head and a new furnace we had to put in this year at the beginning of winter because our old one gave out.  I am, also, very very thankful I can be home with my family because last night I worked and thought I would be trapped because of the snow and not make it home to be with my family today. I am very grateful it did not hit until early this morning.

I am wearing blue jeans and a festive shirt.

I am remembering people I need to send Christmas cards to.

Tonight I am going to stay home.

A good book I am reading is actually not a book but a magazine, "Faith and Family."

I am hoping for a joyous Advent and Christmas season that brings us closer to the Lord day by day and a safe winter.

On my mind is what is going on outside, watching the snow blow everywhere.

I am noticing Christmas lights and a crazy cat running around the house and wet clothes at the doorway from a young boy playing outside.

Pondering these words from today's reading of the Bible:  Isaiah 35: 1-6,10

 The desert and the parched land will exult;

the steppe will rejoice and bloom.
They will bloom with abundant flowers,
and rejoice with joyful song.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to them,
the splendor of Carmel and Sharon;
they will see the glory of the LORD,
the splendor of our God.
Strengthen the hands that are feeble,
make firm the knees that are weak,
say to those whose hearts are frightened:
Be strong, fear not!
Here is your God,
he comes with vindication;
with divine recompense
he comes to save you.
Then will the eyes of the blind be opened,
the ears of the deaf be cleared;
then will the lame leap like a stag,
then the tongue of the mute will sing.

Those whom the LORD has ransomed will return
and enter Zion singing,
crowned with everlasting joy;
they will meet with joy and gladness,
sorrow and mourning will flee.

From the kitchen we have Christmas cookies and cheese dip and crackers.

Around the house are Christmas decorations.

One of my favorite things is being home.

Just for today:

Outside my window is:   snow and sun.
Today I am thinking about :   getting alot of  housework and schoolwork done.
I am thankful for:   heat and sunshine.
I am wearing:  blue jeans and comfy shirt.
I am remembering:  winters past.
Tonight I am going:   to be taking my son to scouts.
A good book I am reading:  Johnette Benkovic's "Full of Grace".
I am hoping for:  not as much snow this winter as they predict.
On my mind:  my son's grammar lesson.  Hoping he does well.
I am noticing:  a son growing out of his clothes.
Pondering these words from the Bible:   'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope." Jer 29:11
From the kitchen tonight will be:  probably a smorgasbord.
Around this house:  are Christmas decorations coming down.

I am thinking about... my blog.
I am thankful for... my family, Christmas and all of our blessings.
I am wearing... my pink comfy clothes.
I am remembering... last night's travel in the snow. I had to drive very late when snow was coming down making roads dangerous.
I am going to go... Christmas shopping and to a Christmas play tomorrow.
I am reading... Donna Marie Cooper O'Boyles book "The Domestic Church."
I am hoping for... a nice Christmas.
On my mind is... hoping to figure out how to work this blog.
Noticing... that my husband and son are having a good time playing a racing game.
Pondering these words... "Let there be peace on Earth.
From the kitchen... tonight shrimp scampi.
Around the house... lots of laundry is piling up.
One of my favorite things... is our Christmas tree.
