Father Z - "Nancy Pelosi: ‘I am going to stick with fellow Catholics’ in Pres. Obama’s war on Catholics. Wherein Fr. Z rants.

I really didn't intend for my  blog to get caught up in politics but I did want it to be a place to grow spiritually and it seems like there are times when the two need spoken of together, especially when a government has declared a war on religion. Mostly it seems like this battle is against the Catholic church of which I am a member.

I was looking for an  article I had read not too long ago on Father Z's page when I came across this one and thought I would repost it.

Please pray for our government to make the right decisions, for our Catholic church to stand strong and for Nancy Pelosi to change her heart and turn away from whatever is driving her in the direction she is going.

Dear Lord help us to educate our family for your glory.

"Since parents have conferred life on their children, they have a most solemn obligation to educate their offspring. Hence, parents must be acknowledged as the first and foremost educators of their children. Their role as educators is so decisive that scarcely anything can compensate for their failure in it. For it devolves on parents to create a family atmosphere so animated with love and reverence for God and others that a well-rounded personal and social development will be fostered among children. Hence, the family is the first school of those social virtues which every society needs."--Gravissimum Educationis (one of the documents of the Second Vatican Council)
